Steve Evangelatos

Biography

Steve Evangelatos is a Canadian animator and the animation director and owner of the Natterjack Animation Co. in Vancouver.

Steve's experience in animation spans over 18 years. Originally training to be a painter, he attended the Ontario College of Art, the Art Student's League of New York and finally York University, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts. Animation, however, was learned by working in the industry, starting as a cel painter and later working with masters such as Richard Williams.

Steve has worked as a freelance animator on dozens of projects in over 16 studios in the U.S., Canada, England, Germany and Asia. His work has appeared in seven features, nine television projects and over 50 TV commercials. His independent work is also becoming known. His short films have been selected twice for competition in the Ottawa International Animation Festival (Christmas Card and Clockwork Lemons), where he received a special jury award for Clockwork Lemons, and The Champ was selected for competition in The Los Angeles Animation Celebration. The Beckers in Cannibalism and Your Teen and Christmas Card were recently screened at the Annecy International Animation Festival. 

In 1993 he founded the Natterjack Animation Co., which has grown to a staff of 60 artists, technicians and production personnel. Natterjack has become known for the production of high-quality character animation for commercials, features and shorts.
